Jason Junkins, MD, FACP
Dr. Junkins was born and raised in Centre, Alabama and graduated from Cherokee County High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Jacksonville State University in 1991, and then attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, graduating in 1997. Dr. Junkins completed a residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama in 2001. He returned to northeast Alabama where he has practiced since. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Mary Rutherford, MD
Dr. Rutherford attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and graduated in 1979. She completed her internship in Family Medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham the following year. After serving in the US Air Force, she completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia in 1986. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and practices in our Attalla clinic.
Michael Gross, MSN, CRNP
Michael is well-known to the community as he has lived here his entire life. He began his career as a Radiologic Technologist. He later completed his nursing degree at Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2007. Michael received his Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing in 2010. Michael works primarily at the Attalla location and sees both primary care and urgent care patients.
Brandy Malsy, MSN, CRNP
Brandi attended Jacksonville State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006. She subsequently obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Auburn University in 2015 and is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. She was in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Brandi lives in Calhoun County and is married with two children.
James Lombardo, PA
Jim has been a long history of caring for patients. He started his career in the US Navy in 1975 where he was a Navy Corpman on the USS Vancouver. He continued his training at the Naval School of Health Sciences in San Diego, California in 1977. He graduated the Physician Assistant program at Albany Medical College in 1984. He then moved to Gadsden and began working at Northeast Alabama Neurological Services in 1985 and has been here ever since.
Hallie McKnight, MSN, CRNP
Hallie joined Southern Immediate Care in July 2018. Hallie has a wealth of nursing experience that started while nursing at Gadsden Regional Medical Center where she worked in the SICU. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2003 followed by a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2004 where she received her training as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. In 2005, she received a Post Masters Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner training.
